The quality of our products is our source of pride. We hold this value dearly at all stages of our production chain. Through teamwork and commitment to our values, we work effortlessly to maintain superior quality by:

  • Sourcing out the best suppliers for our raw materials.
  • Providing attractive and quality packaging for our all products.
  • Implementing good quality management practices on our product lines.

Creativity/Innovation

Our efficiency is borne out of creativity and innovation, as such, we constantly develop new methods to improve our levels of production, while maintaining quality standards. R&D department has developed a range of ready-to-eat (RTE) and ready-to-cook (RTC) food products which will be launched soon.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Our deep understanding of community and sustainability urge us to give back to the community through our adoption of orphans and destitute children. We also offer financial support to orphanages and currently in the process of adopting some of these children to support them in their education. Due to our dedication to orphans and destitute children, we ensure that there is no child labour involved in the processes of our agro-business.

The company ensures that all purchases of its agro-products for export such as; Gari and Red Palm Oil are from women co-operative associations. This policy is in line with the government of Ghana’s poverty alleviation programme, to improve the livelihood of a great number of women in the country’s rural regions and districts.

Our journey was a vision started by our founder and present CEO Felicia Twumasi, who conceived the idea of creating, building and establishing a food processing company on her kitchen table. It was a BIG dream indeed. Her dream was to build an agro-business empire adding value to perishable agro products, thereby enhancing food security leading to creating wealth for farmers and the nation.

After being in operation since 1995, Homefoods has grown from a very humble kitchen table business to a factory floor with over 150 employees.

We operate from four processing sites as we have outgrown our present processing factory floor. Future plans include relocating into our modern facility by 2017 so as to  incorporate all these sites..The dream of building an AGRO-FOOD PROCESSING EMPIRE is not far from achieving as we synergise the initiatives of our professionals, experts , farmers and sundry to realise our dream of building sustainable food security for the nation and leaving a legacy of initiative and creativity for posterity.

Homefoods plans to be a global food ingredients purveyors, providing quality, innovative, authentic, ethnic, culinary and gourmet range of food products.

The welfare of our employees mean a lot to us.  We believe the relationship building between employees, both senior and junior, including factory workers, and involving their families through social events, is a prime factor for good corporate governance.

One of our core values is to build capacities in the social, economic, physical and logical aspect of an individual irrespective of their position in the company. During social events which is organized every mid- year, we get to know each other better by interacting in different social disciplines. The inner self of some colleagues are known as they socialize informally. These events as well as the annual end of year employee excellence awards party are very important calendar dates in the company.

A visit from our Netherlands Customers

A visit from our Netherlands Customers (Asia Express) to our Accra Office on 15th November 2019.

Ghana: Growing from a small palm oil exporter into a sizeable food business

Felicia Twumasi established Homefoods in 1995. The idea for a business had been brewing since she was at convent school. Initially, the company focused exclusively on the export of red palm oil, securing substantial market share through a partner in the UK under the Blue Bay label, but today it also produces a range spices and seasonings, sauces and local Ghanaian favourites such as gari. Jeanette Clark spoke to Felicia about putting a supply chain in place, export vs local markets and the grind to grow the company’s customer base.
